Book Discussion Group: Our selection for the October book discussion is My Sister’s Bones by Nuala Elwood. Stop by the library and pick up a copy then join us on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Snap Circuits after-school fun time will be on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 4 to 6 p.m. This is an open time to explore and create many different projects using our Snap Circuits sets. You do not need to register, but give us a call if you plan on attending so we can be sure to have enough sets available.

The Adult Coloring Group will meet on Friday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Friends of the Library Book and Bake Sale will be Thursday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Friends of the Library Quilt Raffle will be Friday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. Tickets $1 each or six for $5. Tickets can be purchased at the library.

VENDORS WANTED for our first annual craft show to be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Charles District Library, 132 S. Saginaw St., St. Charles. The cost is $20 per table. To register, contact 989-865-9371.

The Friends of the St. Charles District Library will accept book donations the first Monday of every month from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Books must be in good condition. We cannot accept text books, encyclopedias, magazines or Reader’s Digest Condensed.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday closed.

Writers’ Group – The Montrose-Jennings Library Writer’s Group will meet Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. This group is open to the public.

Longwarts Bewitching Science – The Montrose-Jennings Library will present Longwarts Bewitching Science on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. This is Sloan Longway’s version of Hogwarts. Explore the world of wizardry, design your own wand and create magical spells and potions. The program is for ages 6 – 12.

On Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. Sloan/ Longway Museum will present its version of Hogwarts at the library. Kids ages 6 to 12 will explore the world of wizardry, design their own wands and create magical spells and potions.

Preregistration is required. Phone (810) 638- 7575 during public library hours. Hours are Monday and Wednesday from 1-7 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 1-5 p.m.

We are open to the public Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. If Ashley Schools are delayed or closed due to weather conditions, we are also delayed or closed.

Stop in and check out a book. We have no overdue fines. There is also a 24-hour book drop box in our enclosed entryway. Copies are only 10 cents per page. Our Library Board will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

The Children’s Lego Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 3 to 4 p.m. Parents are welcome.
