The Book Discussion group will meet on Monday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. to discuss the book Truevine: Two Brothers, a Kidnapping, and a Mother’s Quest: A True Story of the Jim Crow South by Beth Macy.

Fall Story Time runs Sept. 12 thru Nov. 14, for ages 2 thru preschool on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Please call the library to register your child.

Attorney Carol M. Thomas presents a free seminar at the St. Charles District Library on wills and trusts, on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m.

The Adult Coloring Group will meet on Friday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Friends of the St. Charles District Library will accept book donations the first Monday of every month from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Books must be in good condition. We cannot accept text books, encyclopedias, magazines or Reader’s Digest Condensed.

Community Shred Day is the first Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your documents to be shredded and trash bag or box to take the shredded material home. Patrons are responsible for disposing, loading and unloading of their own shredded material. The library is not responsible for disposing of the shredded material.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday closed.

Writers’ Group – The Montrose-Jennings Library Writers’ Group will meet Thursday, Sept. 13 and 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. This group is open to the public.

Sidewalk Chalk Art Fun Day – The Montrose- Jennings Library will hold a Sidewalk Chalk Art Fun Day on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Decorate the library’s sidewalks with your original art. This activity is for ages 5 - 17.

Painted Rocks – The Montrose-Jennings Library will hold a Painted Rocks class on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. Paint your own rocks and distribute them around town to make someone’s day. This activity is for ages 5 – 17.
