ST. CHARLES - Organizers are currently seeking a marketplace coordinator to help run this year’s St. Charles Farmers’ Marketplace, set this year each Tuesday, beginning July 10 in Coal Miners Park.

Responsibilities include general market operations, and market support; food access programming and outreach and marketing.

According to the job posting, an overview of the position will have the coordinator managing vendor relationships, handling the set up and break down of the market each Tuesday, handling social media and general promotion, and other responsibilities including operating the SNAP program, and assisting customer inquiries and special events.

The coordinator will also administer various food access programs the market plans to offer this year including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) SNAP, WIC Project Fresh, Senior Project Fresh and Double Up Food Bucks.

The marketplace is continually working to increase access to fresh, healthy, locally-grown foods.

Plans also include special events throughout the season to provide family-friendly activities for the community to enjoy, including the highly acclaimed Haunted Fall Harvest in October.

“The marketplace has become a destination for the community on Tuesdays. It is great to see families coming out and enjoying the park together,” said Matthew Lane, St. Charles village manager.
