Book Discussion Group: Our selection for the September book discussion is The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Amiee Bender. Stop by the library and pick up a copy and join us on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. for discussion and refreshments!

Story Hour: The fall session of story hour begins Tuesday, Sept. 20 and is open to children ages 2-5 years of age. Space is limited to 10 children. Call (989) 845-3211 to sign up.

Fall Storytime runs Sept. 21, through Dec. 1, for children ages 2 through preschool. Wednesday and Thursday sessions will be held at 10:30 a.m. Please call the library to register your child.

The Book Discussion Group will meet on Monday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. to discuss the book The Midwife of Hope River by Patricia

Harman. In the 1930s, Appalachian midwife Patience Murphy, who while dealing with her own secrets, faces seemingly insurmountable conditions – disease, poverty and prejudice – as she strives to bring new life into a cruel world.

Please help support the Friends of the library by donating baked goods for the upcoming bake sale on Sept. 15. The money raised will be used to support library programs, materials, and special equipment for the library.

FALL BOOK & BAKE SALE – Thursday, Sept. 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. $3.00 per bag donation. Friday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Help Yourself Day with free will donations accepted. The library will be closing at 3:45 on Friday, Sept. 30, to participate in the homecoming parade. Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday Closed.
