Schimmoller Schimmoller Delta College student Meleigha Schimmoller has been awarded a $1,000 Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP) Dream Scholarship for the second year in a row. She is among 17 top students who will receive the award to encourage their pursuit of law enforcement/public safety careers by the professional public safety officers of LEEP. Schimmoller has a 3.5 grade point average at Delta College where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice through a program with Ferris State University. She graduated from Swan Valley High School while being dual enrolled at Delta. She plans to work for the Michigan Department of Corrections or become a Michigan State Police Trooper. She joined Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and was Spotlight Student, featured in a Dateline Delta television segment. She works two jobs while going to school full time. Schimmoller received top scholar and perfect attendance awards through Delta College’s Criminal Justice Program. She was a Law Enforcement Advisory Committee Junior Member at Saginaw Career Complex, attended Michigan State Police Youth Leadership Academy and District of Kiwanis Michigan State Police Career Academy. She worked in the Juvenile Detention Center and Saginaw County Jail through Saginaw Career Complex. She was a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society and received the Distinction Award twice. She participated in sideline and competitive cheerleading and track and field, receiving an academic all-state honorable mention.

Eric Bush, of Montrose, received a DMAMusic degree from the University of Iowa at the close of the spring 2015 semester.
