Age 93, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. Ray was born on February 16, 1922 in Flint, one of nine children born to George and Irene Roberts. He was a 1940 graduate of Flint Northern High School. He married Joyce Vogler on June 26, 1943. After retiring from Chevrolet in 1979 with 33 years of service, Ray and Joyce spent their winters in Englewood, Fla., and summers at Hubbard Lake. After Joyce’s death in 2006, Ray moved to Montrose, where he enjoyed being involved in activities at the Montrose Senior Center.

Ray is survived by his children, Michael, of Monroe, Timothy (Diane), of Davison, Pamela Brantley (John Bradford), of Montrose, Mark (Danita), of Clio, and Patricia (Jeff) Birchmeier, of Montrose; grandchildren, Brett Roberts, Lauren Roberts, Sean (Christa) Benner, Brie Roberts (Nick Rowan), Matthew (Penny) Brantley, Jennifer (Scott) McDowell, Melissa Birchmeier and Kyle Birchmeier; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and one sister, Eleanor. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and his wife, Joyce.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 400 N. Saginaw St., Montrose. Father Gordon will officiate, with burial afterward at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montrose Senior Center, 200 Alfred St., Montrose, MI 48457. Arrangements were entrusted to the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning.
