April 13 to 19 is National Library Week! Stop by the library this week and learn about all the fun activities we have planned to celebrate the contributions of libraries of library workers in our community. The festivities include a Food for Fines drive all week. This campaign will allow library patrons to pay off up to $5 in fines by bringing in at least one non-perishable food or personal care item for Chesaning Area Emergency Relief. The item must be dropped off at the circulation desk so fines can be waived.

Lego Club meets on Saturday, April 19 at 1 pm. We supply the Legos, kids ages first grade and up supply the creativity! We will have free build time and a challenge.

The library will host a Pinkalicious Pink Lemonade Party on Saturday, May 3 from 1 to 2 p.m. for children ages 3 to 7. Preregistration is required, as space is limited. Please attend in your favorite pink attire, and enjoy an afternoon of Pinkalicious fun. Sign up by stopping by the library circulation desk or calling us at (989) 845- 3211.

We will be offering a “How to Keep Your Computer Healthy” program on Tuesday, April 22 at 6:30 pm with Joseph Schiavone of Chesaning Connect. Schiavone will cover basic PC care and maintenance issues, including storage, cleaning, the importance of anti-virus software and more. Preregistration is required and seats are limited.

Book Discussion Group: Our selection for April’s book discussion is Her by Christa Parravani. Stop by the library and pick up a copy and join us on April 16 for discussion and refreshments!

The Friends of the Library would like to thank everyone who volunteered and the supporters of the Spring Book and Bake Sale. All proceeds will be given to the library to purchase materials and fund reading programs. Thank you!

The Knitting Group will meet on Tuesday, April 22, at 1 p.m.

If you are interested in taking a Windows 8.1 class, please contact the library at 989- 865-9371. The cost will be $30 and will include a take home instruction manual. Dates and time of class to be determined based on interest.
