The Book Discussion Group is reading The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty for our February book. We will be meeting Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. Stop in and pick up a copy to enjoy. Bring a friend; there will be yummy refreshments and much fun!

We will be holding Tech Time on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. at the library. Bring any type of technology questions for one on one assistance. If it involves your specific device, please bring that along as well.

Winter Story Hour begins this Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the library. We look forward to seeing those of you who signed up!

Yak, Snack & Read Program started on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 5:30 p.m. and will run for seven weeks. Kindergarten through third grade students are invited to come join us! Limited seating is available. Please call the library to sign up.

Winter Story time for children ages 2 through preschool started Jan. 15. Wednesday session is full, but we still have a few openings for our Thursday session at 10:30 a.m. Please call the library to sign up.

The Winter Reading Program for all ages started on Monday, Jan. 20 and will end on Friday, Feb. 28. All you have to do is read!

The library board will meet on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Friends of the Library will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. New members are welcome.

Tech Time at the Library:

We will help you with any technology questions you might have. Please bring in your questions, your device and power cords. Tech Time Sessions: Thursday, Jan, 30, from 1 to 3 p.m.; Friday, Jan. 31, from 10 a.m. to noon; Thursday, Feb. 6, from 2 to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon; Monday, Feb. 17, from 3 to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon. Individual appointments can also be made by calling (989) 865-9371.

Food Network Cake Challenge star Michelle Bommarito will put her spin on Mexican Cuisine during a program at the New Lothrop Branch of the Community District Library on Monday, Jan. 27, at 5:30 p.m. She will share information on making pineapple salsa, cilantro lime yogurt sauce, flat iron steak quesadillas and caramelized black beans. Space is limited, so pre-register by calling (810) 638-7575. The branch is inside the New Lothrop Elementary School, located at 9387 Genesee St.

School year hours: Open to the public Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. We serve Chapin and Marion Townships.

We will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17 for Presidents’ Day.

Stop in and browse our books, magazines and movies. If we don’t have a book you need, we can inter-loan it from another library.

If Ashley schools are delayed or closed due to the weather, we are also delayed or closed.
