FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

• The CHESANING AMERICAN LEGION POST 212 BREAKFAST will be held on Sunday, May 6, from 7:30 a.m. until noon at the Post, 15052 McKeighan Road. The menu includes bacon, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits, French toast, pancakes, hash browns, eggs to order, orange juice, milk and coffee. The price is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 through 12, and free for children ages 5 and under. The Legion is asking those attending to bring an item for the CAER Center pantry to help replenish it for those in need. There will also be a bake sale during the breakfast to help support the Legion Auxiliary activities. • The Chesaning United Methodist Mens’ BBQ RIB DINNER will be held on Sunday, May 6 from noon to 1:30 p.m. All are welcome. The cost is $10 and $6. The menu includes baked potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, beverages and dessert. • Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose will be hosting a MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH on Sunday, May 13, at the new Life Center from 10 a.m. to noon. The menu of pancakes, French toast, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuit and sausage gravy, pastries and more will be served. This is a free will donation, with the suggested price of $5 each or $15 per family. • There will be a BREAKFAST BUFFET served on Saturday, May 12 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Masonic Temple in Montrose. The cost is $6 for the all-you-can-eat meal. Proceeds will go towards the scholarship fund. • The Montrose Eagles Club #4090 Auxiliary will be serving a COUNTRY BREAKFAST BUFFET on Sunday, Oct. 9, from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 6-12, and free for children ages 5 and under. The menu for the all-you-can-eat full breakfast buffet includes sausage gravy and biscuits, sausage patties/ links, bacon, corned beef hash, scrambled eggs, hash browns, made to order eggs, pancakes, french toast, strawberry and biscuits with Cool Whip, coffee, tea, milk and orange juice. Buffet is open to the public, and take-outs are welcome. For more information, call (810) 639-5886. • There will be a COMMUNITY SOUP SUPPER on the second Saturday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1629 Brady St., Chesaning. No reservations are needed and there is no cost. The supper is open to all. Those in need of a ride should call (989) 845-3157 Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. • There will be a SOUP AND PIE SUPPER on Wednesday, May 16 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop. The all-you-can-eat menu will feature homemade soup. The cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children. • The men of the Oakley Community Church are sponsoring a TACO SUPPER on the first three Fridays of May, on May 4, 11 and 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. Proceeds from the supper will go towards projects around the church, which is located at 327 S. Main St., Oakley. For more information, contact Bill Ironside at (989) 661-2277. • St. Martin Lutheran Church of Birch Run will be hosting an all-you-can-eat COD FISH FRY on Friday, May 11 at the church fellowship hall, at the corners of Canada and Gera Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu will includes cod, cole slaw, bread, beverages and desserts. The cost is $10 for adults, $7 for youth ages 5- 12, and free for those under age 5. Tickets are available at the door, as are take-outs. This will be the church’s last fish fry until fall.

SUPPORT GROUPS

• A PARKINSON DISEASE SUPPORT GROUP will meet on Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Medical Arts Building at Memorial Healthcare, 721 N. Shiawassee St., Owosso. The group will be viewing a DVD on “Care For the Carer” and “Staying Active.” This group is open for anyone who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, and their loved ones. CHURCHES

• Don’t miss out on an experience that will encourage participants’ marriage, dating relationship, or single life. Persons 18 and older are invited to the MARRIAGE: FRIEND OR FOE? experience hosted by the New Lothrop Church of the Nazarene on Friday, May 11. The experience will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person. • There will be a NEW MUSIC JAM at the Marion Springs Conservation Club, 20390 W. Brant Road, Brant, on the second Tuesday of each month, starting May 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. Acoustic instruments only, please. Admission is free. • The Montrose Senior Citizen Center will be holding a EUCHRE TOURNAMENT on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 5 to 8 p.m. Players must be at least 18 years old. BAZAARS AND CRAFT SHOWS

• The women of Trinity United Methodist Church will host a FALL BAZAAR on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested persons should reserve a spot now. The cost is $15 per table, $20 after the Oct. 30 deadline. To reserve a space, contact Ellen Kress at (989) 845-6229. • The Nelson United Methodist Church SPRING BAZAAR AND BAKE SALE will be held on Thursday and Friday, May 3 and 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 5950 S. Hemlock Road. • The Young At Heart Club is holding a SILENT AUCTION now through May 18.
