Chesaning CROP Walk a success

Dear Editor,

It was another successful Chesaning Area CROP Hunger Walk on October 10, with nearly 200 area residents showing up to walk or help with the annual event.

Special thanks to those businesss and organizations who donated or provided items for the walk: McDonald's Restaurant of Chesaning, Twin Brooks Golf Course, Brady Wesleyan Church and the Chesaning Boy Scouts. A very special thank you to Dollar General for allowing us to use the store's parking lot for several hours and for providing electricity. We were also very blessed to again have the Brady Wesleyan Praise Team provide music that helped create a fun, festive atmosphere. Thank you to the Tri-County Citizen for providing news coverage.

Thank you also to all of our walkers and those who generously made donations. It was great to see so many churches, friends, families and school and community organizations put together teams. We also appreciate the churches and individuals who provided treats for the walkers to enjoy after finishing their route.

Remember it is not too late to donate to the 2010 CROP Walk! Your donation will help fight hunger both around the world and at home, as a portion of the proceeds are donated to the Chesaning Area Emergency Relief (CAER) Center. Donations may be dropped off at the Chesaning Chamber of Commerce or Trinity United Methodist Church. Checks can be made out to CWS (Church World Service).

Fundraising totals will be shared soon! Thank you,
Chris Mishler, Crystal Strait
and Carol Somers
