Art at the Depot supported

Dear Editor:

Once again the Montrose Community came out to enjoy and support the annual "Art at the Depot" for 2009. The building was all decorated for Christmas and everyone came to get into the spirit of the season, and enjoy seeing the beautifully restored building shine.

As organizers of this year's event, we would like to let the entire Montrose Community know how much your support has been appreciated. Of course, no one should be given more thanks than the hard-working and dedicated men who have made the transformation of the Depot take place.

Our very talented local artists certainly made this community proud by displaying their works of art. The variety of exhibits by all different age groups was impressive. Local people also created home-made ornaments for the Christmas tree. Our deepest thanks to them all.

We would also like to thank local merchants who generously donated items for the day; including Riverside Spartan, Montrose Orchards, Mayn Street Flowers, and O'Guinn's Family Funeral Homes.

The fourth grade students at Carter Elementary and their art teachers, Mrs. Danielle Folsom, helped to decorate a special Christmas tree with their own beautiful ornaments.

The most important people who made the whole day possible were the good friends who gave of their time to make the day a success. Thank you to Jack and Jackie Clolinger, Tom and Pat Tithof, Pat Wallar, Dawn Campbell, Connie Tripp, Chris Persons, Jean Stewart, Ernestine Panks, Dee Hammond, Florine Brown, Jim and Nancy Stewart, and many more.

The day was very special to us, and our "Thank-You" comes from the heart!

Murray and Eva Vandefifer
